The Wine Festival of Vignanello livens up the town around Ferragosto, celebrating a winemaking tradition deeply tied to the hills of the Cimini. Cellars, stalls and tastings are joined by processions, flag-throwers, music and traditional games. The event fills the streets around Castello Ruspoli and the oldest part of the town.
Cellars and tastings
During the festival, spaces are opened up for producers and tastings of local wines, letting visitors get to know the area's labels and grape varieties right in the village.
Processions and folklore
The programme traditionally includes flag-throwers, musicians, rural processions and travelling shows. These elements give the event a folk dimension that goes well beyond simple wine tasting.
Vignanello between wine and castle
The festival is also a chance to visit Castello Ruspoli and its Renaissance garden, when opening times coincide with the event's programme.
